It could be a great soundbar

I Purchased the Lg 75Q 5.1.2 sound bar on Sunday May 28th to hook up to my LG OLED TV it was just what I was looking for it had Dolby Atmos and I saw it on sale at Best Buy. Hooked it up no thanks to the directions that came with it. Everything was working just perfect set it to Cinema because that setting had the best sound through all the speakers. Come Monday I got the crazy idea to download the app on my phone to see what I could control from my phone. After downloading the LG app on my phone the first thing it said you had to do was update the sound bar so I did and I saw some of the new features that you could set from your phone like Turn off the display or have it stay on all the time or have it dim after 20 seconds. Went back to watching my tv with the sound bar everything was sounding good I was really happy with the sound bar. Well all of a sudden I started get a loud squealing through my sound bar and all of my speakers I thought what the heck is going on here to get rid of the squealing you had to shut off the sound bar and then turn it on again then it would be ok for awhile but when you were thinking that everything was ok the squealing would begin again. to make a long story short what I found out was that the squealing would only happen when set to Cinema now remember everything was working great Sunday but started squealing on Monday AFTER UPDATING THE SOUNDBAR. When I went to my TV Apps like Hulu you tube Crackle etc the display would switch from HDMI to ARC and I would not get any squealing when watching the apps on the tv the setting would still be on Cinema and the sound was great but as soon as I went back to my Cable TV HDMI the squealing began all over again. I contacted LG customer service on Tuesday and the rep was really nice we did a hard reset on the sound bar and went to my cable tv settings and made some changes to the settings and the rep said this should take care of the problem. He further said the the update should not of caused the problem I dont believe that. He said if that did not fix the problem then I could send the unit to LG for repair or take it back to Best Buy If my return to them would be within the 15 days that they allow. Well after about 30 minutes the squealing started again. Nothing I did could stop the squealing from coming back when the Sound bar was set to Cinema watching cable tv. If I set the sound bar to AI or Standard or any other setting there would be no squealing only when it was set to Cinema. That was it for the sound bar first the sound was terrible when set to any other setting except Cinema so I was not going to keep the sound bar knowing that when set to Cinema the sound bar was going to start squealing and I was not going to keep the sound bar just because it did work great when watching the TV Apps after all I watch a lot of tv and I want it to work good no matter what content I am watching. So Wednesday Morning I took the sound bar back to Best Buy. Even though I really wanted to exchange the sound bar I just did not have the confidence that I would not have the same problem with the replacement. However if I would of exchanged it I definitely would not of done an update. Fortunately for me Best Buy did not have a replacement So I just got a refund. I am Truly disappointed that this sound bar went crazy after updating it.

The S75QR is a very good soundbar. But learning to use it is difficult because of an uninformitive manual and untrained customer service. The online manual is little help. First nowhere is there directions on how to update the firmware and customer service told me it could not be done. FYI to do it you download the LG Soundbar app to your phone then connect phone to soundbar via Bluetooth and update through the phone to the soundbar. Then again via the app through phone to soundbar there are multiple possible sound adjustments and options...none of which have explanations as to how they affect the sound. You are left to trial and error as to effect of an action. The sound is VERY different as you change settings. Good actual product...good luck figuring out how to use it.

When looking for a new Dolby compatible sound system we came across this LG sound at system. The best features include Dolby Atmos compatibility and a great design. It wont be as encapsulating as a custom sound system would be but its definitely way cheaper and the sound you are getting for the price point is fantastic.

It sounds great when it works. But mine is constantly dropping signal. The rear speakers will constantly disconnect. If I try and use it without those the signal still drops. No sound. Wont turn off or do anything unless I unplug the power cord. Its terrible. 100 the sound bar as Ive used it on 2 TVs and changed the hdmi cable out. Of course its past the return window too.

Ok. The system sounds great. The price was very reasonable. The problem is that my smart lg tv a.d the lg surround system are not. You assume that everyone knows how to set it up. The instructions showed a picture and some wires. No owners manual. First customer service rep said he would call back. never did. Second rep told me to down load the info. Once again assuming I have a computer. Had to wait two weeks for a friends son to come and make it all work. Why should I have to down load the instructions. Why did this product not come with one that explains how to. Not everyone is a comp. savey.

I have had this for about a month now and replaced an old surround sound system for my wife and i in the upstairs livingroom. The system was easy to set up and a nice surround sound never thought this would sound this good for the price as i have Klipsch sound system downstairs and know what to expect. This was much easier to set up then the LG SP8YA that i returned because there were no compatible speakers available anywhere after spending hours trying to connect to the rear speakers that they claimed were compatable but were not.

Overall sound quality is great for home use and what you expect to use the device for. No complicatios for its setup and no complexities in using. It is definitely a must to any household that is not using any soundbar and upgrade to regular sound from the TV plus you can connect other devices via bluetooth.

Listing says that the rear speakers are wall mountable but that also the wall mount is sold separately. No links to the wall mount anywhere on the site. No wall mount listed in parts and accessories. Also I am totally unable to find any pictures of the back side of the speakers at all. Not the sound bar not the subwoofer and not any of the rear speakers. The only one you can find is the picture that shows where you would connect cables. Nothing more. It gives you zero idea about how or if you really could mount any part of this system to a wall or anything else for that matter. Major Failure on the marketing team for this product.

This has been a great boost to my audio without taking up a great deal of space. I got this sound bar to replaced a 5.1 speaker setup with a receiver. It has worked great and E-ARC is a fantastic feature that has let me reduce the amount of remotes needed.
